The President of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari, has given reasons for food price hike across the country.
Buhari, while decrying hike in prices of food stuffs, cited flood disaster that has ravaged some parts of the country, as a major reason for increase in food prices in the country.
The President added that insecurity issues have grossly affected agriculture products.
Buhari also pointed out that the activities of meddlemen further augmented the prices of groceries in the country.
Buhari revealed this during his goodwill message to Muslim faithful, commemorating the Eid-el-Kabir festival across the country.
The President assured Nigerians of his administration's commitment to ensure a just, peaceful and prosperous nation where safety of life and property was utmost.
He noted that he was taking adequate steps to tackle the nation's insecurity issues.
