Accra Hearts of Oak have been handed a major boost ahead of their subsequent games of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

The Phobians have had a mixture of results this season despite running riot over opponents last season under coach Samuel Boadu. The Phobians were treble winners last season, claiming the domestic league with 61 points, the FA Cup after beating AshantiGold 8-7 on penalty shootouts. The double results automatically gave the 21 time Ghana Premier League holders the Ghana Super Cup which is played between the league and the FA Cup winners.

Hearts of Oak had a poor continental club campaign where they shipped in ten goals in two games of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. The suffered the CAF Champions League elimination against Morocco giants, Wydad Athletic Club before getting eliminated by Algeria club, Jeunesse Sportive de Saoura in the CAF Confederation Cup. The Phobians now sit 5th on the league table with 40 points from 26 matches.

The good news is that, the Phobians were without key midfielder, Abdul Aziz Nurudeen but he has now returned to training with the Phobians. The defensive midfielder missed out for Hearts of Oak against Elmina Sharks and Accra Lions in match day 25 and 26 respectively. Aziz suffered a bout of malaria and needed to seek for proper medical attention to help his quick return to action.
