Senior Pirates Players didn't offer me any advice- Mahlonoko

Former Orlando Pirates highly rated teenage sensation Augustine Mahlonoko, says he was not given enough support by the senior players at the club during the two years that he spent with the senior team.

Mahlonoko was promoted from the Orlando Pirates development in 2018,he made his professional debut for Bucs' against Highlands Park at Orlando Stadium in a 1-1 draw, becoming the youngest player to play for Pirates at the tender age of sixteen.

The Sebokeng born midfielder is now a free agent after his contract with Pirates was terminated, speaking to Soccer Laduma, the midfielder says he relied on his mentor and development coach Augusto Palacios for advice, as nothing much was coming from his teammates."I didn't get lots of advices from my senior Orlando Pirates teammates during my stint at the club, Augusto Palacios is the one person who was always available to advise me" Mahlonoko said.

Mahlonoko who also captained the Pirates Multi choice Development Challenge team, only made four appearances with the Bucs senior team, before he was sent on loan to the lower division in the Motsepe League.

The midfielder who was given his debut by Serbian Milutin Sredojvic, found the competition in the Pirates team tough as he was competing with seasoned campaigners in Xola Mlambo, Musa Nyatama and Nyasha Munetsi
