Oleksandr Usyk is the new heavyweight world champion after defeating Anthony Joshua on Saturday night, September 25, in London, United Kingdom.
The undefeated Ukrainian defied the odds, which were stacked heavily in Joshua's favour, and now holds the IBF, WBO, and WBA heavyweight titles after conquering the cruiserweight division.
Usyk was awarded the victory after defeating Joshua with a tactically planned game plan that caught Joshua off guard.
The three judges scored the fight 117-112, 116-112, and 115-113 in favour of Usyk.
It is Joshua's second defeat in his professional career, following his shocking loss to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019.
