Ghana Education Service: Admission to your preferred school without placement
Computerized School Selection and Placement system has three methods of admission process which a student can be in placed in a School through one of the admissions methods.
Automatic Placement: automatic placement is for students whose raw score ranking matched with one of their school of choices and the system automatically place the student. With the automatic placement, students grades are ranked from highest to lowest to compete for placement in one of the five schools selected and a student get placed automatically by merit based on the grade.
Self Placement: Self placement is for students whose grade did not matched with any of their five schools selected through ranking of the grades from highest to the lowest. Such students are entitled to use the self placement option to palace themselves in the available schools with vacancies. Students automatically placed in a School cannot access the self placement option to change the school.
Protocol Admission: protocol admission is another method students can used to gain admission to their preferred schools. Five(5) percent of the school declared vacancies is given as protocol for all schools.
The protocol admission is for stakeholders, old students and land owners of the school.
Students can use the protocol admission to gain admission to their preferred schools they have not been placed in.
