A video of Kakamega senator and gubernatorial aspirant Cleofas Malala issuing a contradicting statement regarding police officers emerged online eliciting mixed reactions among Kenyans.
According to reports, Cleofas Malala was among the leaders who were addressing their supporters in Malava town during the Kenya Kwanza rally that had been hosted by Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi.
Cleofas Malala was allowed to talk to his supporters, but he was not reluctant to request job opportunities for the youths in the next government which he believes Musalia and Wetangula will be leading.
He said that to be a police officer does not need any education or professional for all they do is carry and use guns. He asked the incoming government to educate youths and offer them jobs instead of recruiting them into police services.
Kenyans reacted to the statement with many rebuking him and asking him to apologize to all men and women in uniform for undermining their job.
