There's currently tension in Alexandria street, Berea in Durban following a fire outbreak inside the popular Chinese mall in the city.
In a video circulating on different social media platforms, people could be seen breaking and jumping out through the windows in a bid to escape being trapped inside the building.
The exact cause of the inferno is yet to be ascertained as fire fighters and other safety officials are on ground to ensure that the situation is put under control.
No fatality has been recorded as at the time of gathering this report, but thirteen persons had minor injuries and has been treated.
According to EMER-G-MED spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen.
Van Reenen said "13 people had been injured and that many of them were Chinese nationals. The injured have been treated for their injuries, which range from minor to moderate, at nearby hospitals."
"At this stage, the cause of the fire is unknown and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation," Van Reenen said in a statement."
Motorists plying that route are advised to take alternative roads pending the end of the whole incident.
