The decomposing body of a nurse based at a private hospital in Masala, Rarieda Sub-County, Siaya County was on Wednesday retrieved from a 70 feet borehole.

Rarieda Sub-County Police Commander Patrick Lumumba while confirming the incident said the woman was reported missing on July 10,2021 by her husband.

"Her husband, Malon Onyango, 34, lodged a complaint for a missing person report on July 10,2021. She was a nurse based at a private clinic in Masala centre. We are yet to establish the root cause of her death," Patrick said.

The deceased identified as Millicent Onyango, 25, was married to Malon Onyango, and were blessed with two children all girls.

Police were unable to speculate what might have lead the woman to take away her own life, even though the husband is taken as the prime suspect in her killing.

Her body was moved to Matangwe hospital mortuary pending postmortem.

The latest development comes only two days after 23-year-old bodaboda rider was lynched by enraged members of the public for allegedly assaulting his customer in manyuanda.
