In place of a top four tournament, the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has reached an agreement.

GHALCA had intentions to hold a top four competition in the off-season following the conclusion of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League to assist clubs in getting ready for the next campaign.

Prior to each season in the past, GHALCA has organized top four competitions to aid clubs that have earned the right to represent Ghana in Africa in suitable preparation.

Hearts of Oak, one of the qualified teams from last season, failed to place in the top four of the Ghana Premier League season.

In response, a request was made to the GHALCA to explore holding a top-six tournament that would amuse Hearts of Oak.

Following weeks of discussion, the GHALCA decided this week to host the top six competition.

Asante Kotoko, Medeama SC, Bechem United, Karela United, Great Olympics, and Accra Hearts of Oak are among the teams that will compete in the tournament.
