Dumisani Ngobese, the emotional graduate speaks on his first day at work

It is graduation season in South Africa, social media platforms are flooded with pictures of people attending their graduation ceremonies, in different kinds of Universities.

The graduation day is a very important day for graduates, as it is a day that people celebrate their qualifications and the rewards of their hard work. Many people prepare for this day, they go out of their way to dress up and look good.


People buy new dresses and suits for this day, 23 year-old Dumisani Ngobese couldn't afford to buy a new suit for his big day, but that did not stop him from attending his graduation at the University of KwaZulu Natal.

His pictures trended on social media about a week ago, he was pictured walking the graduation stage wearing black jeans and a black casual t-shirt. He got so emotional on stage that he couldn't hold back the tears.

His pictures touched many South Africans and they got the attention of his now employer, Calvin Mathibedi. A Durban businessman who was so touched by Dumisani's pictures and his story even more, so much so that he offered him a permanent job in his company, Calvin and the family group.

The company focuses on agriculture and minerals, Dumisani started working this week.

According to the source, Dumisani could never have expected that photos of him in tears would lead to his first day at work, He describes his first day at work as "exceptional".
