This happened only a few months after the two made headlines in Kisii after they exchanged blows during the burial ceremony of the mother to Deputy Governor of Kisii county Joash Maangi. Today’s handshake was spearheaded by Richard Onyonka who asked the community leaders to embrace mature politic for the betterment of the region.
This latest gesture has been applauded by many, who see it as a sign of maturity and reconciliation from the two leaders who are drawn from two opposing sides. During the handshake leaders present and mourners celebrated thanking the two for putting their differences aside.
