Police officers from Munyuki in Lugari have launched a manhunt for the criminal behind the brutal murder of a minor identified as Ayuma.
The little girl who was a pupil at Springs of Hope Academy was discovered dead in school uniform with a letter written on her exercise book which was then left open on her chest.
Details of the letter
The criminal blamed Ayuma's mother for his action. According to him, the mother refused to sleep with him and the bitterness triggered his action. He claimed that he wanted to inflict pain on her as a form of vengeance warning of more tough times ahead. He went ahead and inserted his contacts for "more details".
"Sorry to Ayuma's parents. I have decided to kill her because you refused to sleep with me. Be careful as someone else is next. I love you. For more information reach me on...(loosely translated)," read part of the letter.
Murder cases in the country
Murder cases have become rampant across the country. The recent case was that of a young man from Ruiru who confessed to have killed a couple of women. He claimed that he was working for a certain church in Nairobi which paid him Kshs 30,000 for every kill he made. His story came shortly after another children serial killer escaped controversially from police custody but was later killed in Bungoma.
Majority have linked the increased cases to cultic practices especially by the youth seeking shortcuts in life.
