The recent defeat of President Uhuru Kenyatta's ruling party Jubilee in the Juja and Rurii by-elections went a long way to reveal that the Head os State has lost a grip of his own backyard and has been for a while now since the fall-out with his Deputy President William Ruto.
The DP's move to run an offensive charm in the mountain region seems to have worked well as a large part of the region is now supporting the hustlers movement or else just against their son Uhuru Kenyatta.
That being said, Tanga Tanga MP Rigathi Gichagua has come out to reveal where Uhuru got it wrong to lose support in his own turf however revealing that his people do not hate him but are just punishing him for his mistakes.
Gichagua who spoke to the Saturday Nation said that it all started with the incorporation of ODM leader Raila Odinga into the government through the handshake and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
"The departure point between the President and the people of Mt. Kenya was the incorporation of Raila Odinga into power via the handshake and the bulldozed BBI. That must also be on the table," said Gachagua.
