Emerging news stories from Punch newspaper shows that the federal government has budgeted 10.6 billion naira as transportation cost of covid-19 vaccines to the thirty six states including the area councils within the FCT.

According to the Punch newspaper, the Federal Government through the National Primary Health Care Development Agency has budgeted the sum of 10.6 billion naira to transport covid-19 vaccines to the 36 states and the 774 local government areas as well as the Six area councils within the FCT.

Meanwhile, according to the breakdown, 685.4 million naira would be spend I Kano state alone considering it has forty four local government areas. While 558.6 million would be use in Lagos the epic centre of the disease. Others are Katsina the president's hometown 476 million naira, Oyo 396.3 million naira. Bayelsa has the lowest budget for the vaccine considering it has just eight local government areas, which is 121 million naira only.

Also, the total amount earmarked for the transportation of vaccine, procurement of Personal Protective Equipment, Sensitization and every other thing is 12.7 billion naira.

Well! The vaccine are on ground, but I have been wondering why the cost of transportation is relatively on the high side.
