The west London side on getting to the stadium brought a kit (home) that has the same color clashing with the home top of their opponent, Coventry. so Chelsea has to change their top to another one since they are the ones visiting. Unfortunately, Chelsea didn't travel with their away kit which made them to be forced to use the away top of Coventry to play.

Chelsea kept their shorts and socks, and only had a change of top to that of Coventry's away Jersey.
