How do we rate a coach as one of the best trainers in the game? Many people might say through the number of games and trophies they win, however, one thing that is significant to know about a good coach is their ability to spot and sense danger in a game and address it rightly. This is exactly what Thomas Tuchel did today after his team had a shaky first half.

The blues took the lead against the run of play courtesy of a brilliant Romelu Lukaku strike; however, they are being almost pegged back by Villa, after they threatened to mount a come back in the encounter. Chelsea managed to survive what Villa were throwing at them and by halftime, Tuchel had seen enough to make the necessary change that help his team to a three goals victory. In truth, we can say, it is smart decision that earn Chelsea all the three points, and as such, we will analyze one thing he got right that allow Chelsea to dominate the game and earn all three points.

Over the months, Thomas Tuchel has made some smart decisions which has really helped his team to earn success. Firstly, in the UEFA Super Cup final, it was Tuchel's decision to substitute Édouard Mendy for Kepa Arrizabalaga that earn Chelsea the trophy some months ago. Against Aston Villa today, one Chelsea player who was performing below par before halftime is Saul Niguez.

The summer recruits was not his usual best on his first taste of English football and once Tuchel spot that, he quickly subbed off the Spanish midfielder for Jorginho a move that helped solidify Chelsea's midfield in the second half. Tuchel has shown time without numbers that he is not afraid of making big decisions, and the one he made today shows he really knows what he is doing.
