Arsenal loanee Ainsley Maitland-Niles who is currently on loan at As Roma is preferred playing as a right-back to midfield at his new club.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles made his debut at As Roma as a right-back and since then he has been deployed in that position in all matches he has made appearances. It is clear that Jose Mourinho prefer Maitland-Niles to play as a defender. Maitland-Niles has done competitively well in the defensive position thus being given more chances to play for As Roma.
Initially, Ainsley Maitland-Niles used to play as a right-back before Mikel Arteta promoting him to the midfield role. Due to high level of competition in Arsenal, Maitland-Niles made minimal appearances under his new role. However, under the minimal appearance, he perfoemed so we'll thus winning fansy favor for him.
