Deputy President William Ruto`s key allies have launched yet another attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta following his National address, claiming that the head of state could not ignore the fact that nothing new changed after DP Ruto isolated himself from the ruling party.
Gladys Shollei in her remarks noted that Uhuru`s speech confirmed that he was aware Kenyans were suffering and he could do nothing as their President-elect to solve the challenges, adding that, in the second term, the head of state was to lunch Universal health care, which he failed to deploy.
“President Uhuru`s speech showed he is completely oblivious to what is happening in Kenya…part of his 2nd term agenda was universal healthcare and we all know that Kenyans are involved in fundraising every day to pay for medical bills,” said Shollei.
On his end, the Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale noted that the head of state categorically highlighted the developments that were achieved in the first term when he was still in a good relationship with his deputy.
Khalwale further added that the head of state should have equally acknowledged that in his last term he left the country grappling with massive debts due to poor leadership.
“The project President Uhuru stated were from his first term of government, he should tell us where he has reached with the ‘Big Four’. In his speech, he should have added that he has left the country under a mountain of public debt,” said Khalwale.
In the face of the looming 2022 general elections, the rift between Uhuru, and DP Ruto has continued to widen as the second in command claims there are plans to rig his votes come 2022 polls.
