Cote d'Ivoire were excellent in the group stages, picking up seven points from their three games and securing a win over defending champions Algeria. They have scored in every game, but have kept just one clean sheet so far.
Egypt responded to their 1-0 loss to Nigeria with wins over Guinea-Bissau and Sudan and they have kept back-to-back clean sheets. The Pharaohs haven't really clicked in the final third, however have been doing just enough to get over the line.Egypt may have excelled defensively, but Cote d'Ivoire are in superb form and should secure a quarter-final spot on Wednesday afternoon.
Mali went through the group stages unbeaten and didn't concede from open play, with Musa Barrow's 90th-minute penalty wrecking their chances of three clean sheets from three. They have won their last three meetings with Equatorial Guinea.
The National Thunder exceeded expectations to progress from Group E, and a 1-0 win over defending AFCON champions Algeria shows they are not to be underestimated. Against a team that is yet to concede from open play, though, they may struggle on Wednesday.
Mali should be confident of earning a fourth successive win over Equatorial Guinea and keeping another clean sheet in the process.
