This weekend, an incoming Kaizer Chiefs player will play his final game of the season at home against Cape Town City, bringing his two years at Stellenbosch to a close. On Saturday (15:00), the iKapa derby will be played at Danie Craven Stadium, and Zitha Kwinika has expressed his thoughts on the match.
"It's the final game of the season, and we want to achieve our goals now that we know we're in the top eight," Kwinika said to the club's media department.
"No one wants to lose a derby game, and we want to finish the season on a high, and if we win that one, we'll have bragging rights," Kwinika, who is returning to his boyhood club, The Siya team confirmed the Kaizer Chiefs. According to reports, the defender has reached an agreement with Chiefs on personal terms, the club with which he signed his first professional deal.
The 28-year-old just took home a major prize at the Stellies. He was named Player of the Season and Player of the Year by the Players.
Over the course of two seasons, he has been a rock solid defender for the Men in Maroon, making 56 appearances.
In an Instagram post, Kwinika almost confirmed his resignation from Stellies: "I might say that I came here as grapes, and I will be ready to leave as wine," he said.
