Today, the media fraternity, relatives family members and friends of the late Radio journalist Robin Njogu, will be having a fundraiser as a way of standing and mourning with the bereaved family.
The monies collected will help in organising a decent final send-off ceremony for both, Robin Njogu and his late mother who died just two days ahead of his son, the former, Robin Njogu.
According to the announcement by Citizen TV news anchor Lulu Hassan, the said funds drive will start at 5:30 Pm, at Sagret Hotel in Milimani, Nairobi County.
Those who won't make it to the event but would also wish to contribute, are advised to wire their payments via the family's M-PESA PayBill Number, 40 68 000.
The contributions will also be used to clear the huge medication bill at Aga Khan Hospital, where the late media icon was admitted before meeting his death.
"Hi friends, Robin Njogu's hospital bill is in millions. We are also organising for two send-offs, Robin's burial and his Mother's. We lost them 2 days apart".
"We appreciate every little support. Please pray for his family too. It's devastating to burry two members of the same family back to back", Lulu's Facebook announcement reads.
Robin Njogu succumbed to Coronavirus on Monday, March 16, 2021. Until his death, he was the Managing Editor for Radio Citizen, a Royal Media-owned station. Prior, he worked at Nation FM and Capital FM.End.
