If we were to make a list of the best football players from South Africa, Mbulelo Mabizela's name would easily be in the top three. He was a star from a young age, so it was only a matter of time before he became the golden boy of South Africa. He is definitely one of the first footballers from the country to go to the Premier League and open doors for the current generation.

Even now, many players, especially calm defenders, are compared to him because of how many skills they had. No one will ever be able to reach his level. Right now, he is just a step above everyone else. Mabizela was as solid as they come. Even the best strikers on the other team knew it wasn't easy to get by him. He was good at reading the game, but his well-timed tackles were the best thing to see.

Mbulelo Mabizela could have easily become as successful as Lucas Radebe and Mark Fish, but that did not happen. Many people might say that his behavior on the field was mostly to blame for his fall, but who are we to say? Maybe it was just not meant to be. Mabizela could have been one of the best footballers in the world today, but he chose to stay out of the spotlight after he retired.

Since then, we have learned that Mbulelo Mabizela is back in his hometown of Pietermaritzburg, KZN, and is still giving back to the community. Since then, we've found out that he works at Whizzkids United Health Academy as an HIV/AIDS counselor. The academy is a non-profit organization that gets all of its money from donations from kind people.

As a well-known former football player, he has responsibilities that go far beyond the consultation room where he gives advice. He is also Whizzkids United Health Academy's football coach. Mbulelo Mabizela is training the next generation of footballers, so it won't be long before some of the best young players follow in his footsteps.
