Tottenham Hotspurs fans have asked Matt Doherty to delete some tweets from almost a decade ago that show his allegiance to their rival fans. The Wolverhampton Wanderers defender is expected to sign for Tottenham Hotspurs later this week after impressing at the Molineaux for over 2 seasons in the top flight football. Doherty is expected to be signed in a deal worth £15 million plus adds on and Tottenham Hotspurs fans are excited about the signing save for one thing, the player has been supporting Arsenal football club for a long time now. His older tweets shows his admiration for the club. Some of the tweets from 2012 quote the defender pouring his love out for Arsenal. In one tweet he says, "love Arsenal forever and ever and ever" while in another he said "Yes I'm a huge Arsenal fan". With his imminent transfer to Tottenham, the fans visited his old tweets and asked him to pull it down. One fan commented, "yo delete this ASAP" while another said, "might want to delete fella?" Another fan took this chance to throw some banter at Arsenal by claiming that a decade later Doherty has seen the light and is now joining the better club in London. In 2019 Wolves defeated Arsenal and Doherty admitted it was a dream facing his boyhood club. His sentiments have brought bitterness to the gunners and spurs camps once again with the two clubs known to be bitter rivals for a long time now.
