Mokwena has responded to the Siya crew's report that the Mamelodi Sundowns trio of coaches are at odds with one another.
In spite of winning the inaugural DStv Premiership title last season in the first year of the new-look technical staff setup, Soccer Laduma was informed by trustworthy sources that Mokwena, his co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi and senior coach Steve Komphela did not see eye to eye.
As part of the build up to their match against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday, Mokwena was asked to comment.
“I read the article. And I was expecting this question already. It’s a difficult one to answer and not to come across as not being honest, but at the same time to try and protect the club,” Rhulani told the news reporters.
“We have a very big game on the weekend – our focus and energy must be on that. But also on the corner of my brain there is the importance of clarifying some of the things. It’s a pity because sometimes some of the things that come out do so and you are like ‘oh my goodness, how did this get out?’. For me that is probably the biggest problem, having a mole and having people that report certain things to the media. We should not have people in our club that go about that sort of behaviour. That should not be allowed.”
Later, Mokwena corroborated what Siya crew stated happened at their Chloorkop base, where Mngqithi is supposed to have undercut him.
