The suspended acting chairman, of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu has for the first time spoken about the purported N4 billion he gave to Vice president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
Magu on Thursday denied the alleged reports that he gave a whooping N4 billion to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, adding that such reports were falsehood with the attempt to malign the image and character of the Vice president.
Magu who was released after spending days under prove by a presidential panel headed by a former President of the court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Isa salami also debunked reports that he gave N28 million to a legal icon and human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana SAN.
The embattled former acting EFCC chairman made this known in a petitioned made by his legal counsel, Mr. Wahab Kunle Shittu, he said ; “Our client, Mr Ibrahim Magu strongly denies this falsehood against the respected Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi osinba, SAN, GCON. Our client has never given the sum of N4billion or any sum at all to Vice President as wrongly reported by media organizations ,”
Mr. Magu was last week arrested by operatives of the Department for security SERVICES, DSS and was immediately whisked away to the Presidential Villa over offence bothering on alleged financial irregularities, insubordination and other sundry allegations raised by the office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.
