Arsenal vs Norwich: Preview, Team News, Probable Lineup

Arsenal’s post-restart flight finally lands at the Emirates as the Gunners will be playing their first ,home match after the hiatus. They welcome bottom club Norwich, in an important match that will be significant for both the clubs.

Team News:

Arsenal will be missing the services of Lucas Torreira, Calum Chambers, Gabriel Martinelli and Pablo Mari – who are all out with injuries. Bernd Leno also will be missing following his ankle injury at Brighton. Midfielder Granit Xhaka recovered from his problem from Etihad and has started in their last two games. David Luiz was injured in the FA Cup tie at Sheffield and is doubtful for the game. Mesut Ozil, who hasn’t featured a game since restart may get a nod ahead of the others on Wednesday.

Norwich, meanwhile, will be without the suspended Timm Klose after his red card against United on Saturday. His absence adds to the woes of their boss as Sam Byram and Grant Hanley are already out for the season. Lukas Rupp and Todd Cantwell are doubtful too after the former suffered a hip injury against United, while the latter also came off in the match.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have caught some momentum in their last two wins, and will have to do the same on Wednesday. The Gunners are currently 9th in the league table, and they must win against the struggling Canaries to consolidate in their quest for a European place finish. Given Arsenal’s next four games after this are against Wolves, Leicester, Tottenham, Liverpool – this match holds the key for them. The Gunners are unbeaten at the Emirates in this calendar year, and will be expected to get the three points.

The Canaries have had a torrid season so far. They are bottom in the league table, and their survival hopes are diminishing rapidly. They have the worst away record in the entire division this season with only one win, six points and six goals to their name from 15 games, and it doesn’t look encouraging for them at all.

Probable Lineup:

Norwich: Krul; Aarons, Godfrey, Tettey, Lewis; McLean, Vrancic; Buendia, Duda, Hernandez; Pukki
