Opinion| This is the best Kaizer Chiefs Lineup but Baxter can’t see it, see the lineup

Stuart Baxter is a coach who likes defensive football and he hasn't won many trophies outside of Kaizer Chiefs, where he won numerous trophies during his first stint with the club. We all thought he was a great coach until he joined the South African national team.

In the national team, Baxter messed up the lineup, benching Thembinkosi Lorch, who then scored in the national team's round of 16 tie against Egypt at Afcon. In the 85th minute, he scored to send Bafana into the quarter-finals. This demonstrates that Baxter is known to make poor decisions and he benches key players.

He is now respected at Kaizer Chiefs because of his previous achievements with the club. The truth is that Baxter has aged and no longer has the same players he had back then; he is struggling now not because of the team, but because he is living in the past and has favorites on the team. Because he prefers certain players over others, he selects an ineffective lineup, and we lose games as a result of his preferences. Worst of all, he does not play entertaining football; instead, he is overly defensive.

The lineup is straightforward: Khune over Akpeyi because Akpeyi does not position himself well, as evidenced by the Lorch goal against him and the Al Ahly goals in the Champions League final; his positioning is poor, and he does not communicate with his backline. Amakhosi must start Frosler, Mphahlele, Nj Ngcobo, and Hlanti at the back. Mphahlele is a fighter who, unlike Ngezana, Cardoso, and Mathoho, does not make a lot of mistakes.

We must get rid of Alexander and Parker in the middle of the park; they simply cannot perform well, and this is why many teams dominate the midfield against Amakhosi; the midfielders are poor, but Baxter continues to play them because he favors them. Baccus, Nange, and N.K Ngcobo must be played in the middle of the park. We want to play football, not defend for an entire 90-minute period. We want to create chances and play entertaining football, not what Baxter is serving us.

Billiat, Dolly, and another player will definitely form the frontline. I wish Baxter would experiment with Sekgota as a striker.

The lineup: Khune, Frosler, N.J Ngcobo, Mphahlele, Hlanti, Baccus, Nange, N.K Ngcobo, Dolly,Billiat, Sekgota
