Some days ago, The Minister of Education announced that WAEC in Nigeria won't be holding until the coronavirus is gone and that schools won't be opened as well not until the pandemic is over.
A lot of people reacted to the news and they expressed their displeasure. One notable name amongst them is Atiku Abubakar.
People's Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer, for last Nigeria election, Atiku Abubakar, reacted to the news and faulted the decision seriously, saying the cancellation of WAEC puts Nigeria at risk because most country’s economy has its basis in education.
However, as of late, The Minister of Education has announced that a new decision has been made and schools will now resume after the proprietors go through the new guidelines that is set and report back to them if they can adhere to them or not.
The Minister of Education also said, a meeting has been done by Nigeria and some other West African countries and they've chosen a new date for the West African Examination. He said the exam will now commence on September 5.
Commenting on the new decision, Atiku tweeted, "I am elated at reports that @NigeriaGov and WAEC have resolved to shift the date of examinations to September 5, 2020.
