Open Letter To Oluwo From A Yoruba Man Living In The North

News Hub Creator

Oba Abdul-Rasheed Akanbi, I'm writing to express my displeasure with your most recent conduct regarding the state of the nation.

First and foremost, you must recognize that you have been elected as an Oba rather than an Emir. Please avoid referring to yourself as an Emir; it is a disgrace and a betrayal of the Yoruba culture. In Yoruba territory, we don't have Emirs; instead, we have Obas. Yoruba kings are renowned for their crowns, so please refrain from wearing a turban headband in public.

Second, your defense of Fulani herdsmen in Yoruba territory is superfluous; you should know that Yoruba people are not battling Northerners or Fulani people; they are only fighting killer herdsmen terrorizing their communities. As a popular Yoruba leader, you must join the people in condemning the atrocities committed by herdsmen in the area, rather than supporting the herdsmen.

I know my boundaries as a Yoruba man living among Fulani in Kano State, and I will never cross them. Yoruba people from other parts of the world don't go around creating havoc in their host communities.

I've never seen an Emir in the north pretend to be an Oba in the way you have, sir. Please follow my suggestions and make the necessary changes.

Yours Sincerely.

Please share and like this letter until it reaches the Oba of Iwo territory.
