An Open Letter To Governor Godwin Obaseki On The Recent Tension In Edo State

Dear sir,

I know that you are a man of peace, hence, I write this letter to express my thoughts on the recent tension that took place in Ogheghe, Edo State.

Yesterday in Ogheghe, a young Edo citizen was reportedly beaten and burnt to death, by Hausa people within that community and this singular activity caused the reprisal attack and the destruction of several properties.

Going by the security situation in Nigeria, I sincerely expected you to release a press statement, warning all individuals to maintain peace and sanity in Edo State, but up to his moment, we are yet to hear from you.

Although the Nigerian Police Force, has taken charge of the situation, you still remain the Chief Security Officer of Edo State and such, I urge you to invite the leaders of the Hausa community in Ogheghe and the traditional ruler of Ogheghe, to settle this issue before the tension escalates.

Dialogue, would always be the best way to settle dispute.

Please, I urge you to give due consideration to the content of this letter.

Dear Nigerians, what is your take on this issue of national concern?

Please, do well to comment, like, share and follow.
