William Ruto's team has won big after the entry of former Kuresoi South MP Zakayo Cheruiyot. On a day set aside to welcome him to UDA, ZK was welcomed by the Deputy President at Keringet where his Nakuru county tour ended.
ZK made official his defection after a long period of hearsay that sent jitters in his rival's camps. The incumbent grew cold feet on today's function with fears that came through when the firmer PS stole the crowd. The charged crowd who had seen the legislator demanded that he addresses them.
"I was in CCM and I have firmly crossed the floor. I will fight with all my energy to ensure that you become the president. You have been my long-time friend and despite our differences, our friendship remains," the former PS said.
His defection dealt a blow to Chama Cha Mashinani party leader Issac Ruto who has stood firm about staying in his party and not joining the popular UDA.
His entry has complicated the Kuresoi South candidacy who most were eying. The incumbent is considered slow and has little chance of being reelected.
