Football fans were kept entertained this past weekend by the numerous football matches that were played. Of the matches played these are some of the Kenyan footballers who were on fire in the various leagues.
Magnus Breitnmoser, a 22-year-old Kenyan-Swiss midfielder, was in action for Thun in a friendly against Basel. Many people expected Basel to be superior to Thun going into the match, but that was not the case. Thun won the match by a score of 3-2. Magnus came on as a substitute in the second half.
Amos Nondi played the entire match for Dila Gori in the Georgian league against Samtredia. Kapanadze and Kamara scored for Dila Gori, while Lomtadze scored for Samtredia. Dila Gori won the match 2-1.
Phil Mayaka, a Kenyan midfielder who sharpened his football skills at St. Anthony High School Kitale, was also in action in Colorado Springs' 2-1 victory over New Mexico in the United States Soccer League this weekend.
Down south, Anthony Akumu has advanced to the CAF Champions League final after his club Kaizer Chiefs eliminated Wydada in the CAF Champions League semi-finals this weekend.
