1. Edo 2020: Rivers State Court Strikes Out Suit Against Godwin Obaseki
A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt today struck out a suit seeking to stop Governor Godwin Obaseki from contesting the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship primary scheduled for Thursday.
The Court took the decision after parties to the suit agreed out-of-court settlement and withdrew the matter which was before Justice E. O Obile. The court took a recess in the morning to allow parties in the suit amicably settle their contentions out of court.

President Muhammadu Buhari has authenticated that Victor Giadom is the rightful Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in a complete turnaround of events.Buhari support Giadom
Victor Giadom who has been at the centre of the leadership row happening within the ruling party, which all started with the Appeal Court upheld the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as the national chairman. Giadom who had self-proclaimed himself the as the Acting National Chairman based on a court grant he received in March 2020.

Kenneth Imasuagbon one of the Edo State Governorship aspirants on the People’s Democratic Party’s platform has slammed the rumours making the rounds that he has stepped down for Governor Obaseki.
The Abuja based educationist has released a statement to debunk the news of his stepped, insisting that he was in the race to win and not just there to make up the number in the bid to become the PDP’s flagbearer in the forthcoming EdoState elections.
4. APC Crisis: Kayode Fayemi And Giadom Failed With Aso Rock Visit To Seek Buhari’s Approval
Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi and self-declared APC Acting National Chairman Victor Giadom together visited Aso Rock in their bid to seek President Muhammadu Buhari’s support for Giadom’s claim.
The pair visited the Presidential Villa, on Tuesday but were unable to meet the President, rather they met with the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari. The pair are making frantic efforts to solidify Victor Giadom’s claim, as Kayode Fayemi is allegedly laying groundworks for his 2023 Presidential ambitions.
5. Hospital Pharmacists Appeal To FG Over Unpaid Salaries
The Association of Hospital Pharmacists of Nigeria has appealed to the Federal Government to pay their April and May salaries it is owing them. The association said it is unfair and insensitive for the government to owe pharmacists and other health workers at this time they are working hard to help combat the novel coronavirus.
The National Chairman of the association, Dr. Kingsley Amibor, explained that Hospital pharmacists are not quick to use industrial action as a bargaining tool. “We want to call the attention of the federal government to the salary arrears and other protracted issues demotivating pharmacists in the discharge of their duties of care to millions of Nigerians.

6. 49 healthworkers contract Coronavirus in Enugu
The Benue state government today revealed that 5 doctors and 3 health workers have tested positive to the coronavirus in Benue state. The state deputy governor Benson Abounu said that five medical doctors two ambulance drivers and one emergency worker were among people tested positive for COVID-19 in recent times in the state.
