Robert Lewandowski confirms his Bayern Munich career is 'over' and more transfer news

After eight years with Bayern Munich, Robert Lewandowski has acknowledged his career is "finished." The 33-year-old striker's contract expires in 2023, and he expects Bayern to release him this summer. Last November, Lewandowski finished second in the Ballon d'Or voting after scoring 98 goals in the previous two seasons.

For now, it is evident that my journey with Bayern Munich is done, and I cannot fathom further co-operation with the club after what has occurred in recent months," Lewandowski said in Warsaw, before Poland's Nations League encounter against Wales. The transfer (away from Bayern Munich) is, in my opinion, the best option for both parties.

"I believe that Bayern will not stop me (leaving), just because it has the opportunity to (as Lewandowski's contract still has one more year until it expires in 2023)."

"It's not often Tottenham invests in players over 30, let alone 33, but this one makes sense on a free transfer." "First and foremost, he is someone Antonio Conte wants, having previously worked with him at Inter Milan, so he is a perfect opportunity to demonstrate early support for the manager."

However, it makes much more sense from a football standpoint. Perisic has a lot of experience and is at the top of his game. He's a champion. Conte won the Serie A title in 2021 after winning the Champions League with Bayern Munich.
