The Cross River chapter of all Progressives Congress, APC, has placed an order for three million bunches of brooms from regional broom companies for the completely new entrants to the party.
The party' s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Bassey Ita, disclosed this in a statement in Calabar on Monday.
Ita mentioned it'd been recognized the item, which is the APC's symbol, had suddenly become scarce in the state, siting the influx of members who are actually different in the wake of Governor Ben Ayade's defection into the party.
"To address the process, the party ordered for three million bunches of brooms from vendors that are local to fulfill the growing need.
"It isn't news that the broom revolution has since hit our dear state, because of the defection of our amiable governor to the party of ours.
"But what is today news is actually the point that broom scarcity has hit Cross River as big number of our people has joined the party.
"Last weekend, local authorities chairmen, councillors, federal and state lawmakers, alongside 100,000 of the supporters of theirs in Bekwarra, Ikom and Etung council components joined the party," the statement provided.
Tribute was paid by the gathering to "the tenacity of purpose and single mindedness of the people of the state for aligning with the governor at the drive of his to socket Cross River on the centre".
