The Jonh Cena hitmaker, Sho Madjozi is breathing through the wound after her 'Ownitremix' was allegedly taken down after being nominated for BET Best International Act.
Madjozi narrates that Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy asked Stormzy's team to take down the song immediately after she was nominated alongside him in the Best International Act category.
"Good luck to everyone nominated. It's up to the judges now. I hope they heard my own verse before it was taken down," she said.
Madjozi said that this world is full of bullies, but will however not be discouraged or be intimidated by the occurance.
"In the words of the great Toni Morrison, if you can only be tall because someone else is on their knees, then you have a serious problem," she said.
Madjozi adds that last year, she and Burna Boy were in good books because he didn't feel threatened by her, but things changed after she got nominated in the same category with him.
"Last year Burna Boy and i were cool at the BETs. I guess everyone thought this little girl is not a threat, now same category? It's shaking," she said.
The Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy however responded to the allegations and cited that the song doesn't belong to him and that the process of taking down the song have nothing to do with him personally or any award.
He also advised Sho Madjozi to have engaged him professionally.
"Own it is not my song. If my voice is on it , however it should have been properly cleared. If the remix wasn't cleared by the label ( Atlantic US) it automatically gets flagged. Nothing to do with me personally or any award. Always best to reach out professionally," he said.
