As the royal feud between the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II continues, it has been revealed that the latter has vowed on record that he will never insult the former.
Agyemang Badu II spoke extensively about why he continued to contradict the known historical narrative of the Ashanti and Dormaa people in a video shared on Okay FM's Facebook page.
According to report, the aforementioned video was shot last year, despite the fact that many have misinterpreted it as a response to the Asantehene's recent criticism of him.
Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II is seen addressing to a crowd in his regular casual clothes in a video released by Okay FM on January 19, days after the Asantehene's rebuke in which the Dormaahene was not explicitly mentioned.
"They were talking about the history of Dormaa when we entered the public domain, but they misrepresented parts of it, so I wanted to straighten it out."
They frequently discuss us at Manhyia Palace, but I chose not to respond; they frequently discuss the inhabitants of Dormaa on social media, but we choose not to respond.
"Offinsohene openly claims that his forefathers collaborated with the Asantehene to dominate us," he said. "He started it daily, did you hear me reply, but I was here."
On the Asantehene's censure, the Dormaahene remarked that he would never disrespect the King, but that his words were made in the search of the truth - nothing more, nothing less.
"Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the sole proprietor of Asanteman, our King, Your Majesty, I will never talk against him once he sits on the Golden Stool and has a great following, because the truth is truth."
"I hear all he says in his Palace every day, but I choose to remain silent. See how you're crying now that I've fired one salvo? I have many, but I threw one away. You can tell you're in a lot of pain, can't you? They should be aware that, thanks to all of the social media records, I am also capable of speaking "Dormaahene stressed is a term used to describe a person who is under a lot of stress.
Following the Dormaahene's comments on a historical distortion that, in his opinion, favored the Ashantis, the two traditional chiefs have been the topic of various media reports.
In a stern response, the Asantehene stated emphatically, among other things, that the Asante Kingdom has not forced any of its subjects to serve the Golden Stool, but that it is a rare privilege and honour for anyone to be considered a subject to the Dormaahene, who is known for his public statements on history and even national issues, at the first Council Meeting in Kumasi two weeks ago.
