Today, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will meet with all four presidential candidates to discuss voter registration and the commission's readiness for the forthcoming elections.

The electoral commission has invited William Ruto of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, Raila Odinga of Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya, George Wajakoyah of the Roots Party, and David Mwaure of the Agano Party to respond to various issues related to election readiness.

Among the issues that will be discussed are the issue of printed voter registration lists, the continuation of election results and the timing of the presidential election campaign.

Since then, Odinga has been skeptical of the electoral body's decision not to include computer-assisted voter identification.

Seven civil society groups have also challenged the Commission's decision to abolish the manuscript register in court.

The Kenya Kwanza Alliance, led by DP Ruto, and Odinga's Azimio One Kenya have called for a united front on the abolition of the biometric voter registration roll.

Both unions are concerned that the remaining votes may be printed to discuss the result, and they want assurance that the vote will not be misused.

In addition, they asked how the IEBC would send the results from areas that could not be provided with 3G and 4G networks, although the electoral commission indicated that satellite satellites would be used.
