A man collapsed and died mysteriously on Tuesday afternoon in Bondo town due to a suspected hunger, according to police reports.
Witnesses accounts processed by the press revealed that the unidentified man believed to be in his late 20s went to buy maize floor at Bondo town market Jawa around 1pm when he collapsed and died on the spot.
Bondo Sub-County Police Commissioner Justus Onyango who confirmed the incident said that after getting the wind of the incident security officers raced to the scene and collected the body of the man and moved it at Bondo District hospital mortuary.
The police boss added they are yet to establish the root cause of his, however, investigations are ongoing.
"It is difficult to establish the exact cause of his death. We are liaising with the medics at Bondo District hospital to carryout autopsy to unravel the cause of his death," Justus said.
The police boss also attributed to the latest incident to the current Covid-19 situation within the County dismissing the beliefs by the locals who said the man might have died due to a suspected hunger.
