Busia County Chief Officer for Education and Vocational Training, Daniel Mogoria has urged parents to take good care of their children considering that they are future leaders.
Addressing parents, teachers and pupils during the graduation of Early Childhood Development Education ( ECDE) pupils at Kong'ololo Primary School in Teso North Sub County, Mr Mogoria revealed that capitation for each child will be released whereby Sh12 million has been set aside for the exercise.
"We had set aside Sh600 per child but much of it went to the capitation of Vocational Training Centres students, noting that the amount though little will cater for the ECDE children," he said.
He told parents to support the the County Government's efforts by bringing maize, beans and even millet which is very nutritious for our childrens' growth.
Mogoria said the county Government will construct an ECDE classroom at the school which will house the 115 pre primary one and pre primary two children who are now using a single classroom.
He urged the pupils to always obey their parents, teachers and schools guidelines, telling them to always ask the teachers incase they don't understand anything or any subject if they want to be better future leaders.
The head teacher Peter Dan Namasake said despite the coronavirus pandemic as a school they have tried to follow the Ministry of health ( MOH) protocol.He also thanked the County Government for its endeavor in employing two ECDE teachers and providing learning and teaching material to the ECDE section.
"I request for more seats for our children, noting that the ones they received are are not enough," he said.
The head teacher also urged parents to bring new children when the school opens this month.
