Good News to Teachers as TSC Make the Following Move Over KUSNET Union


Kenya as a nation is under leadership of president Uhuru Kenyatta and his DP William Ruto. The government is a major employer in the country. The country comprises many ministries for example ministry of education, finance, agriculture and health.

Ministry of education is under CS Prof George Magoha. Teachers service commission is the only body mandate to employ and deploy teachers in Kenya. Teachers service commission employs teachers in permanent and pensionable terms. Dr. Nancy Macharia is CEO of teachers.

A teacher is person who is incharge to impart knowledge and skills to learners. The government has allowed kenyans to form and belongs to union. Unions are an association of employees whose objectives is to improve the numeration and conditions of work of the employees through negotiations with employers. Teachers have three Unions such as KUPPET, KNUT and KUSNET. These unions are under leadership of secretary generals.

teachers service commission has recognized KUSNET union. The Union was mandate to championship interest of teachers who teaches special schools and with those special needs. TSC will includes KUSNET in the next CBA. This move of TSC will enable many teachers to have a good CBA. But from look of things TSC wants to use KUSNET union to weaken KUPPET and KNUT union influence over new CBA negotiations.
