Why Asamoah Gyan is angry with Kotoko fans.

 It is quite obvious that he is a legendary in the history of Ghanaian football. 

 Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has branded Asante Kotoko fans as "hypocrites" after they subjected him to boos. 

 Meanwhile the Asante Kotoko fans claim they had only did what we see fans doing all over now and then in the stadium and hence they believe they shouldn't be busted in any way

 The all time leading goalscorer for the Black Stars is quite came off the bench to replace Hans Kwofie in Legon Cities 0-1 loss to Asante Kotoko on Saturday night in the Ghana Premier League. Gyan was booed by the Kotoko fans when he stepped up to take a free kick on the 79th minute.

 He disclosed in a post-match conference that he was unsatisfied with the booeing action of the fans calling them out for what he described as hypocrisy.

”There is only one Asamoah Gyan. They can boo, they know they are hypocrites but they know there is only one Asamoah Gyan. There is only one Asamoah Gyan, they can say I am arrogant, I will be arrogant because they know the hard truth. I’m just here to help my team. They should even be thankful I’m in the league. So it is what it is,” Gyan stated.

 Meanwhile Gyan was linked to the porcupine whiles he was opting to join the Ghana Premier league some months ago but he chose Legon Cities.

Gyan’s relation relationship with Asante Kotoko fans has then been soured after the club’s failed attempt to sign him last year. The deal fell through after Kotoko reportedly balked at the $1million fee demanded by Gyan’s representatives.

Gyan has endured a difficult return to the Ghana Premier League since signing for Legon Cities back in November 2020. He is yet to start a Premier League game or contribute a goal or an assist. His presence in the league has given the league a boost.
