The Orange Democratic movement (ODM) party has had the final laugh as far as yesterday's By-elections in Bonchari Constituency, Kisii county are concerned.
As The People Daily reports, the ODM Party candidate Pavel Oimeke has overwhelmingly won the Bonchari Constituency By-election after managing to scoop majority of the votes, flooring Ruto linked United Democratic Movement (UDA) and President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party whom came third and second respectively.
Engineer Pavel Oimeke garnered a total of 8,049 votes to defeat his closest challenger Zebedo Opore of Jubilee Party who clinched the runners up Position with a total of 7,279 votes. United Democratic movement (UDA) party candidate came at the third position after getting 6,094 votes to cap a highly contested election that was marred by allegations of voter bribery, arrests and intimidations.
The results were announced by independent electoral and boundaries commission (IEBC) returning officer Benson Ambuko at the Suneka CDF tallying Centre earlier today. A total of 13 candidates were contesting in the By-elections.
