The National Police Service has flagged down an advertisement on social media attributed to it promising the 2021 Police recruits access to a loan facility.

The communication which first appeared on Facebook provides a WhatsApp number through which the recruits can now apply for quick and flexible salary loans, a facility that is normally provided to all cadres of civil servants.

Scammers are daily skimming millions of shillings from gullible Kenyans by promising fast, unsecured loans that are purportedly disbursed to Mpesa lines within 24 hours.

The scammers have been growing bold and daily coming up with new techniques but this is the first time they've openly made a beeline for the uniformed services.

The Police and Kenya Defense Forces are presumed to be very lucrative employers and recruits are often targeted by the ever-increasing number of youthful Kenya scammers.
