There is uncertainty in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after a high court barred the factional candidate of the party, Valentine Ozigbo, from parading himself as the PDP candidate for the November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra state.

PM News reported that the court sitting in Awka, the state capital, gave the order pending the determination of a suit before it.

The order issued by Justice Obiora Nwabunike was in respect to the suit with the number, A/230/2021, filed by Senator Ugochukwu Uba.

The legal action seeks to nullify the parallel congress held at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka in which Ozigbo emerged winner with 62 votes.

Daily Trust reported that the judge also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to accept any individual presented by the PDP as its governorship candidate until the outcome of a suit brought before it is determined.

The order read.

''The defendants are hereby ordered and directed to await the determination or outcome of this suit and restrained from presenting, receiving, parading, or accepting any person as the governorship candidate of the 2nd defendant’s party for the governorship election fixed for November 6, 2021 to elect governor of Anambra State.''

Meanwhile, Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has passed a verdict on the Peoples Democratic Party and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Nigerian Tribune reports that the governor said the two leading opposition political parties in Anambra have already given up on the November 6 gubernatorial election in the state.

The governor argued that the parties have practically conceded victory to the ruling All progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Obiano said the PDP and the APC gave up participation in the poll the moment APGA nominated a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN),Chukwuma Charles Soludo, as its standard-bearer.

The Sun also reports that Obiano noted that everyone in the state knows that the game is over for the PDP, adding that there is no point wasting their time and resources.

In the same vein, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chukwuma Charles Soludo says he was a “poor boy” that had been favoured by God.

Soludo said this during his acceptance speech on Wednesday, June 23, after winning the Anambra governorship primary election of the APGA.

In the speech which he published on Facebook, the former CBN governor noted that he decided to come home and serve his people with the wealth of experience he had acquired.

Soludo called on members of APGA to unite to ensure the party takes Anambra state to another level, adding that he will continue on the progress made by Willie Obiano, the current governor of the state.

He reiterated the need for the APGA which is the ruling party in Anambra to come together to take Anambra to new heights.
