Governor Seyi Makinde must seek President Muhammadu Buhari's intervention before things go out of hand in Oyo State. The crisis that is going on among the herdsmen living in a part of Oyo State and the indigenous people of the state is becoming unpredictable nowadays.
Governor Seyi Makinde is one of those politicians that are very tactical when it comes to decision-making processes. He has made a lot of decisions in the past that even the Federal Government followed the way he handled the situation. During the pandemic crisis, Governor Seyi Makinde put joy on the people's faces by not imposing a lockdown in Oyo State.
He has recently slashed the price of school fees at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology ( LAUTECH). He played a major in the process of acquiring full ownership of the institution. It was initially owned by Osun State and Oyo State but Oyo State has become the owner through Seyi Makinde's logical ideas and tactics.
Despite all these achievements and successes, Seyi Makinde is still facing problems when it comes to Security Sector in Oyo State. People are being kidnapped and killed in Oyo State by some suspected Fulani herdsmen terrorising the state.
Some months ago, Chief Sunday Igboho made a move to chase out all Fulani herdsmen living in Igangan, a town in Ibarapa North Local Government of Oyo State. Recently, about twenty people were allegedly massacred overnight by some suspected Fulani herdsmen. It seems the issue going on in Oyo State has gone beyond what Seyi Makinde can handle by himself.
Governor Seyi Makinde should seek help from the Federal Government to prevent Oyo state from another possible attack. He should demand active military personnel in the state. Military personnel should be guiding the state on daily basis. Governor Seyi Makinde should visit President Muhammadu Buhari for possible support and help from the Federal Government.
