President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Okraku has disclosed that some players have confirmed their availability to play for the Senior National team Black Stars of Ghana. On his official Facebook page, Kurt Okraku listed the number of players available to wear the national colors in upcoming international matches.
”Tariq Lamptey, Inaki Williams ,Mohammed Salisu ,Stephan Ambrosius, Patrick Pfeffer and Ransford_Yeboah, available for national selection.
He also made appreciation for what transpired between him and the father of Tariq Lamptey.
“Below ,yours truly with the dad of Tariq (Ahmed).”
For years, Salisu Mohammed had been chased to play for the Black Stars of Ghana. Numerous attempts were made by previous coaches of Black Stars but that could not yield a positive outcome. Assurances had been given about his availability in future games but as at that time, the Southampton defender was of the view that the time was not ripe.
Tariq Lamptey was also approached by football officials to play for Ghana and he indicated his readiness after many attempts.
Inaki Williams today confirmed his availability to play for Black Stars via his official Twitter handle. His plan was to play for La Roja of Spain but that could not go as expected.
These players may earn a call up in impending Black Stars matches. Coach Otto Addo could use those matches to assess them and work on them for future games. Salisu Mohammed will be challenging the likes of Daniel Amartey and Alexander Djiku for playing spot. Inaki Williams will add a bite of Ghana’s attack.
