Good news to Private School teachers as Federal Government has signed an agreement with the body of National Association Of Proprietors of Private Schools.
It was announced by Yomi Otubela, the President of National Association Of Proprietors of Private Schools on Monday 13th July.
Private School Teachers have been suffering over 4 months without salaries when Federal Government imposed total lockdown as a result of COVID-19 outbreak.
Private School teachers are not like Government School teachers who are always being paid every month by Federal Government or State Government, despite being at home.
During this tough time, many Private School Teachers have ventured into mini businesses. Some sells food items, or other ones , while the lucky ones gets private home lessons to keep them surviving.
In the hours of Monday 13th July, the President of National Association Of Proprietors of Private Schools announced that Federal Government has agreed to pay salaries of Private School Teachers for all the periods they have stayed since the lock down had started during the month of March over 4 months now.
Before this new development, a lot of private school teachers have cried out, as many School Managements couldn't pay salaries due to shut down of schools which stands as the only channel of revenue for them.
According to him, while speaking with TVC on early hours of Monday said proposal has been granted by the Federal Executive Council, after it was forwarded to Economic Sustainability Committee headed by Yemi Osibanjo, the Vice President of Nigeria.
