A lawyer, Eburu Ekwe Barth was ordered to be arrested and taken out of the courtroom for intruding a magistrate, Ibrahim Mohammed, and also challenged his ruling while presiding over a case in Abuja.
According to reports made available by Sahara reporters, the magistrate was said to be giving a summary of a case he was presiding over when the lawyer interjected, stating that the judge was ascribing what he never said to him in his ruling.
The lawyer who was speaking in defense of his client went further to query the judge whether there was a conspiracy between the magistrate and the plaintiff's lawyer.
This got the judge angry and called on the police to arrest him. The lawyer was thereafter handcuffed and taken out of the courtroom.
He was later sentenced to 2 months imprisonment by the Magistrate of Court 2, Wuse Zone 6, Abuja for contempt in the face of the court and was immediately moved to Suleja Prison.
