National transport and safety authority has decided to carefully inspect the famous mololine matatu sacco due to several accidents that have been happening. The sacco has been ordered by the authorities to go for a mandatory inspection at NTSA offices in Nakuru. This order came after an accident which killed nine people. Mololine sacco has a fleet of over 400 public service vehicle and it is the most popular matatu sacco at Nakuru, Nairobi, Eldoret and Kisumu route.
The drivers of mololine have also been told to present themselves for driving test again in order for them to be allowed to continue working. This order was issued after the latest accident involving the sacco van which killed eight people on the spot and one died at the hospital. This brought a lot of concern about the sacco matatu safety hence NTSA decided to take an immediate action to curb another fatal accident in future.
